The Topshot Conditions of entry and entry form now available on the FCC
website www.photographynsw.org.au.

There is no change to the entry fee. 

There are some changes to Topshot this year. Please read the Conditions of
entry and the Entry form carefully before completing the entry form and
submitting your entry.


Changes to Sections: 
Open Digital has been replaced by two sections 
  Open Colour Digital, and  Open Monochrome Digital. 

Note – this change has been made to align the sections with changes to AIPC
sections. 
 
Australian Landscape/Seascape is no longer a separate
section but you can still nominate your entries in  Open Colour Digital , Open Monochrome Digital , Nature Digital  to be considered for the Award by putting an "A" in the column marked "A"  beside the image title. 

Note 
nominating an entry for the Australian landscape/Seascape award does not incur
any additional entry fee. 

Changes to Awards and Prizes: 

The awards for Top Print and Top Digital will no longer
be given. All section winners will be considered for the Topshot award. 
 
The ‘Novice’ prize has been renamed ‘First Time Entrant’
prize. The Topshot winning image is no longer eligible for this prize. 
 
Changes to Entry Conditions for Prints: 

These changes have been made to ensure that print entries to Topshot are
eligible for AIPC selection. 

The mount, (back and front) and image, cannot not exceed
3mm in total thickness. 
 
Colour, Monochrome and Nature Prints -
maximum mount and/or image size is 40 x 50
cm. 

Prints with Velcro, unstuck labels, tape flaps or sticky
residue remaining on the back of mounts will not be accepted as these can cause
damage to other prints.

ITINERARY                                                        
 
This itinerary is a suggested itinerary only. Members of course  can vary the itinerary  to  suit their needs.  The references shown   eg ( No.24 )  are  the red number references used in the maps included in the Kiama Visitor’s  Guide.  

Friday 27th       Meet at 5.00 pm in  the Sports Bar of the Kiama Leagues Club for dinner at   6.00 pm. The  club is located  cnr. Terralong St. and Collins St.                                               

Saturday 28th  Meet at 11.30 am for lunch at 12 noon in Hindmarsh Park  located at the cnr. Terralong St. and Collins St.

Those who arrive Friday or early Saturday can embark on some  morning/early morning shots at the Blowhole ( No.3 ) – Kiama Harbour – Bombo  Headland ( No.4 ) – Cathedral Rocks ( No.7 )

Afternoon – At 12.30 pm leave for the Kiama  hinterland –  Minamurra Rainforest ( No.24 ) – Saddleback Mountain ( No.27 ) –  Jamberoo.

 Dinner – at 7.00 pm at the Grand Hotel cnr. Terralong St. and Manning  St.

Sunday 29th   The itinerary for Sunday will be  decided on Saturday when we are all together and we are all a bit more  familiar with Kiama.

]]>Mon, 26 Jul 2010 14:49:16 -0800http://www.phpc.org.au/1/post/2010/07/cockatoo-island-club-outing-sat-14th-august.htmlThe plan is to catch the 8.05 am ferry from Circular Quay – Wharf 5. Members who find this time unsuitable can of course make alternative arrangements.

Members will undoubtedly make their own way around the island and choose their own shooting locations. It is the intention to meet for morning tea between 10.00 and 10.30am at the Muster Station Café which is located near the island ferry wharf. Depending on the time frame some may choose to come back to the Café for lunch.


Note that the island has two levels – Lower Island and Plateau. Each level apparently takes about ¾ of an hour to inspect, which presumably would not include our numerous photo stops. Perhaps one level before morning tea and the other level after.

First ferry from Circular Quay is at 6.25 am, then 7.25 and thereafter at approx. ½  hour intervals.

Ferries return from Cockatoo Island at regular intervals during the day. Ferry timetables can be found on the island website.

Each member will need to make their own booking in their own name in their choice of accommodation. We have been given a group reference of - PHPC, so when booking, advise them of that reference.

Bookings can be done by phone or on line - $5 cheaper on line. Note that the $89 motel room is known as the Cedar Double and can only be booked by phone.
